This listing is for mod service for your CS-3, and this mod also works for your CS-2! We also have 1 modded CS-3 in stock for sale right now. But let's look at the mod service 1st! The CS-3 is the latest and greatest in a line of Boss compression/sustainers. It's a good pedal with a few issues. I have studied other people's mods, and I have done those mods for other people. While the parts may vary, it seems everyone who gets paid to mod this pedal agrees that the CS-3 needs more bass and less noise! The tone knob seems to go from muddy to painfully sharp. If you turn up the attack, it sucks the top right off of the notes you are playing. If you crank up the volume you turn up the noise. . .it may even hiss at you! Some musicians are not ready to give up their CS-2, because it is actually a little quieter and warmer than the CS-3. We start by replacing those cheap capacitors to help eliminate noise and hiss. Then we replace other components such as resistors with metal film resistors of different values to bring up the volume, help out with tone, bring up the base, and give it more body. We replace your LED with a nice bright 1 that is clear when off, and a very pretty matching blue when on. After our mod, this is what people have actually said. "It's warmer, more natural sounding!" "It's got better tone now. . .thicker body and more bass. The tone knob actually works like a tone knob now!" "I can crank it up now without that noise in the background!" "I have better volume, and I love the sustain!" A friend of mine who mods said "Somehow you managed to smooth out the attack without losing the highs or the pinched harmonics!" Oh well, that sounds boring, but that's how modders talk. So if you own a CS-3 or CS-2, drop it off for a tune-up. Let's take care of it now. . .or would you like to spend more time at practice or at a live gig trying to tweak? $38 gets your CS-3 or CS-2 modded.
