This will expire in April 2024 The government introduced the Self-Employed Tax Credit (SETC) as part of the COVID-19 relief measures under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) to support self-employed individuals who were impacted by the pandemic. To qualify for the SETC, you must have conducted a trade that qualifies as self-employment income in 2020 and/or 2021. This includes sole proprietors, 1099 subcontractors, freelancers, gig workers, and single-member LLCs. Additionally, you should have reported a positive net income for these years and paid self-employment taxes. The SETC comprises two components: qualified sick leave and qualified family leave amounts, similar to the amounts eligible employers may claim. For sick leave, if you could not work because of COVID-19 symptoms or quarantine/isolation orders, you could receive tax credits for up to $32,220. Message me for more info
