Sony STR-V5 Stereo FM-AM “Monster” Receiver / Amp! This is a vintage 1978-1981 Sony STR-V5 in completely working condition. This has been in daily use since I’ve owned it, not sitting in an attic. It has been well maintained and was serviced and cleaned by Rob Preston at RFI Audio in Charlotte just a few weeks ago. Sounds fantastic. This is a true audiophile-quality receiver rated at a whopping 85 watts per side, making it one of the “Monster” receivers from that era. As seen in the pictures, there are dings and scratches from age and use, mostly on the back and sides. The face still looks pretty good for its age. All lights still illuminate. · Frequency Response: 5hz-50kHz· Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.07%· Wattage: 85 watts per side· Dimensions: 20.67” x 7.68” x 17.72”· Weight: 41lbs (It’s heavy)· Serial # 801279 These Sony’s rival Marantz at a fraction of the price. If you’re looking to step up to a Monster-level receiver, this is a nice choice. The unit leaves me in full working condition, but because it is a piece of vintage gear, I must sell it "as-is".
