Hello :-) I am sure you are here because you are aware of the out-of-this-world prices of going through an agency for your caregiving needs! To give you an idea of the price difference between me and an agency, let's compare - most agencies charge $25/hr and up! At a typical 8 hour day, 5 day week, a caregiving agency would cost upwards of $4,500/mo or more! That is a lot of money for these tough economic times. Now, here is where I come in - I am able to work for less than half that amount, with a greater degree of satisfaction, compassion, and genuine joy in my job caring for your loved one. My rates are negotiable, typically $11.25/hr for 8 hours of caregiving, with the ability to work more hours a day if required (up to 13 hours a day) 5 days a week. That's a 60% savings! I bring 3 years of experience to the table, with glowing references. I believe that the world of caregiving is a calling, not a job, and that reflects in my work ethic and caregiving. Some people working in this field are certified, and while I lack certifications, they do not certify the owner with heart or compassion that I possess. Here is an idea of my experience as a caregiver - - Alzheimer/ Dementia - Incontinence - Administrating medications on time - Light cooking breakfast,lunch and dinner - Light exercise daily - Patients on oxygen and/or tube fed - Wound care (i.e. bed sores, stage 3 sores, etc) - Able to lift up to 160lbs and transfer from bed to chair - Extremely clean and organized And last, but certainly not least - - Companionship This is very important to me. I never look at this as a job, but a calling. This calling is not meant for everyone. It takes heart and PATIENCE. Lots of patience. I understand people who suffer from these illness have theirs ups and downs. I believe in being patient and showing love is the best way to go about being a great caregiver. Some other notable things about me - I do not drink, smoke, or use drugs. I have no criminal history. In my free time, i enjoy being on my computer, going to the beach, and shopping. I also have a tiny house trained companion. She is a 6lb chihuahua, is house trained, and is a helping hand in all my jobs. Pets are known to be helpful in dealing with the elderly; she is no exception. Though, she is known to stay in my room sleeping :-) . At the moment, I do not have a car. However, I have learned in past caregiving to prefer the public senior bus to be used over driving. It offers a much better experience with my patients. The public senior bus is smaller, air-conditioned, and normally free (can be $0.70 cents for bus fare). It also adds into the 60% savings I mentioned earlier - no worries for gas money compensation. If the public senior bus is unable to work any reason (such a a doctor's visit), I can arrange for a driver to pick us up.
