Service Technician

Description:
The Service Technician performs combustion performance testing on commercial and industrial burner products that are manufactured on-site. He or she is required to document testing irregularities/performance issues with products. Duties and Responsibilities Travel is required. Read and understand wiring diagram, schematics, and blueprints Assemble and mount burners to boilers for testing Pipe oil lines, gas trains, feed water systems and steam headers to boilers Perform mounting and reading of test instruments, recording readings and test data with knowledge of normal parameters. Maintain well organized written reports and project records in a manner that the results can be analyzed and used by others Maintain a neat, clean and functional work area at all times Ensure compliance with all safety rules and standards Assist other Fire Test Lab technicians with any lab, service and R & D functions as required Other duties as assigned Skills/Qualifications/Requirements Boiler/Burner Combustion experience a must 5+ years electrical panel wiring, wiring diagram/blueprint and/or schematic experience. HVAC or related experience is required. High School Diploma/GED. Trade or technical school education is a plus Proven mechanical abilities Basic computer knowledge Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints Working knowledge of power and manual hand tools such as drills, wrenches, etc Good oral and written communications skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Great customer service skills Ability to work overtime as needed This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed within this job.
