POSITION OVERVIEW We are currently seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to join the fast-growing R&W Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service. JOB RESPONSIBILITES Perform routine, and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including air cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc Diagnose and repair of machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site, customer interface Mentor peers on mechanical HVAC installation & service activities Properly completes required project and service documentation Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial Chiller and Refrigeration Equipment Inspect, Service, Repair, and Modify compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, expansion valves, controls Perform routine preventative maintenance Diagnose, repair, and replace defective parts in units Comfortable and knowledgeable in electrical including electrical components, timers, contactors, relays Follow and read blueprints, specifications, wiring diagrams, and instructions QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Sufficient physical agility to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by particular jobs Physical ability to endure high and low outside temperatures Valid driver's license Active EPA certificate BENEFITS Competitive Wages & Weekly Pay FREE dental insurance for employee FREE short-term disability FREE life insurance coverage of $20,000 Eligible for insurance benefits 1st of the month after hire date with multiple options 401k plan with generous company match after 30 days PTO & Paid Holidays Access to FirstCall Academy for training and development Education Reimbursement Program Generous Employee Referral Program ACCOUNTABILITIES Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC & Refrigeration needs ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT This position reports to the local service manager, and has a responsibility to the entire service team and all of our customers. Environmental Requirements Has ability to work remote when not required in office for project-specific requirements. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate the computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
