Dear Hiring Manager,I was taught early on in my journey as a graphic designer to handle multiple clients at once, even during my education at Central Michigan University (CMU) where I participated in their New Venture Competition to pitch business ideas for cash prizes. I also had multiple branding projects during my time at CMU, including designing logos, websites, style guides, and branding guides, and even animation and photography.My time at Frankenmuth Credit Union (FCU), St. Lorenz Lutheran Church & School, and Premier Promotions as a graphic design intern and assistant graphic designer has given me a variety of professional graphic design work experience. At FCU, I obtained skills in using a style guide, and I was tasked with various projects including creating birthday cards for our members, designing event promotional materials and numerous Keynote presentations for the drive through and lobby television screens. Working on these projects enhanced my communications skills and my abilities to work independently and in group settings. At St Lorenz Lutheran Church & School, I gained more experience with Canva as I was responsible for making daily posts on the organization’s social media profiles. My role involved research on songs and sermons to ensure my posts were relevant. My time management and organization skills were also important given I was working a second job during this time.Current role at Premier Promotions has greatly developed my abilities to execute multiple projects simultaneously to meet multiple deadlines while also maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Daily work includes editing business cards, flyers, and other materials; and turning a logo image into a vector. I have had the privilege of partaking in the advertisement of upcoming local festivals through providing design proofs for logos, brochures, posters, postcards, and other advertisement forms. My creativity and attention to detail has really grown in this role, as I’ve needed to interpret creative briefs and client feedback to provide their designs. Additionally, since I work with a variety of businesses from insurance firms to bakeries, each assignment is always different.Thank you for your time and consideration.
